Have you ever imagined what artists looked like when they were kids? Well, in this case, you don’t even have to use your imagination. Frida Kahlo was lucky enough to be a photographer’s daughter and he photographed her all throughout her childhood.
Carl Wilhelm Kahlo Kauffmann (1871-1941), better known as Guillermo Kahlo was a photographer who depicted architecture and Mexican industries in the first half of the 20th century. His photographs have not only an artistic value but also represent important history for the country. He was born in the German Empire and he moved to Mexico in 1891, where he met and married Frida Kahlo’s mother.
Here, we present Guillermo Kahlo’s rare photos from Frida Kahlo’s childhood. You can see how she looked from the age of 2 until she was 18. It is a very rare and incredible opportunity to see the photos of this famous artist. Especially since we are so familiar with her signature look that we know from her numerous self-portraits.
