Past Christmases we showed you Nativity scenes, wintery landscapes, or even Andy Warhol’s Christmas trees. This year I want to show you paintings which instead of focusing on Baby Jesus, make the real protagonists the shepherds who come to pay homage to the newborn King of the Universe. Merry Christmas to all, and especially to those who usually are overlooked. Here come most beautiful adorations of the shepherds:
Jean-Honore Fragonard

Pietro Perugino

El Greco

William Blake

Bartolome Esteban Murillo

Georges de la Tour

Albrecht Durer

Peter Paul Rubens
